I love education. Education has given me so much as a woman. Growing up in a small town, I came from middle-class parents with middle-class incomes who could not afford to put me through university. I was so very fortunate to be able to obtain bursaries and student loans so that I could access a university education. I had no idea at the time what a game-changer such an experience and opportunity would make in my life. Not only did I evade many of the low-paying jobs that, unfortunately, many women are still destined for, but it opened my mind to a whole new world of ideas and possibilities, completely changing my life trajectory. It is my destiny to pay that gift forward to others making a difference in the world of education.
